As the scene continues to grow we’re sure to see more producers become stars in their own right, almost Timbaland and Dr Dre esque. Steel Banglez is most certainly leading the charge in this respect, and his latest single “Fashion Week” with Mostack and AJ Tracey is a clear statement of intent.
Building on the success of his last banger with MO and Yxng Bane, “Your Lovin” peaked at number 47, however “Fashion Week” has surpassed this spectacularly by going straight in at number seven. It’s clear that Banglez has a winning formula and continues produce hit after hit, we’d definitely like to hear what an entire Steel Banglez album would sound like.
While Steel Banglez is mashing up the singles charts, Dave remains inside the top ten with his spell bounding debut Psychodrama in the number seven spot on this weeks album charts. Dave’s frequent collaborator, AJ Tracey also continues to feature well on the album charts with his eponymous debut, at the number 23 spot, which is up two places from last week.
DBE have seen a similar surge with their latest mixtape Home Alone jumping to number 30 up seven places on last week. If the snaps and Insta stories were anything to go by their recent tour was most definitely a complete shut down.
Dave’s prominence is not limited to the album chart of course, several of the singles from the debut remain on this weeks charts. “Location” with Burna Boy being the pick of the bunch climbing up two places into this weeks number six spot, the J Hus collaboration “Disaster” slightly lower at number 15 and the second single from the album “Streatham” just outside the top 20, at number 22.
The summer banger that came early, “Options” which is a collaborative effort from NSG and Tion Wayne, has moved back into this weeks top ten by grabbing the number ten spot. One of this week’s biggest climbers is undoubtedly “Boasty” with Wiley, Stefflon Don and Sean Paul, which has shot into the number 11 spot, after being at 22 the week before.
This Weeks biggest new entry is from Russ and Tion Wayne, with their catchy drill banger “Keisha & Becky”. The track has nabbed the number 19 spot, and the visuals were of course premiered on our channel, catch up with them here if you’ve missed them.
The waviest duo on the scene right now D Block Europe are still doing bits with their infectious lead single from Home Alone, “Kitchen Kings” which is currently at the number 34 spot after six weeks in the charts. The Plug’s latest American/UK rap fusion rounds out this weeks top 40, “How it is” with Roddy Ricch, Chip and Yxng Bane takes the number 40 spot this week.
