Yesterday (January 6) it was reported Dr. Dre was rushed to an intensive care unit after suffering a brain aneurysm and now the iconic hip-hop figure has taken to Instagram to update fans on his health.
In an Instagram post, Dre said he was “doing great and getting excellent care”, and also thanked “family, friends and fans for their well wishes”.
“I will be out of the hospital and back home soon,” he added. “Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”
News of the aneurysm was broken by TMZ yesterday, who said they received information from “sources connected to Dre and with direct knowledge”.
TMZ reported that Dr Dre is “stable and lucid”, but doctors are continuing to do tests on the music mogul to discover what caused the bleeding.
It comes a month after it was reported that Dr Dre’s upcoming album is finished, which will be his first LP since releasing Compton back in 2015.
