During summer, Drake’s beef with Kanye West and Pusha T was one of the main talking points within the hip-hop community and now Drizzy has explained the feud in a brand-new interview.
Appearing on HBO’s ‘The Shop’ alongside Lebron James, the “In My Feelings” rapper explains the origins of his disagreement with Kanye, his reaction to Pusha T’s diss track and describes the saga as a “challenge”.
“[Kanye] played me “Lift Yourself” and he was like ‘Yo, you can have this if you want’ and I was hype. I started writing to it”, Drake explains.
“ ”Lift Yourself” comes out with him just talking nonsense. Oh this guy’s trolling me. This was like a manipulative, like ‘I just wanna break you’ thing”.
When Pusha T released “The Story of Adidon” in which he revealed Drake’s son to the world, many speculated that Kanye West had given Pusha T information about Drake’s offspring and this is something Drizzy alludes to in his new interview.
“By the way, I’m in Wyoming and I play [Kanye] “March 14th”. I send him a picture of my son. I tell him I’m having trouble with my son’s mother”.
Drake also discusses his initial reaction to Pusha T’s diss track and says of the rapper that “someone’s gonna f*cking punch you in the f*cking face”.
The Canadian star also confirms that he did record a response to “The Story of Adidon” but chose not to release it because it’s not something he wants to be remembered for.
