Following the latest headlines involving Drake’s father, Dennis Graham, whom claimed the 32-year old rapper lied in his music about his parenting, Drake has now responded to the situation on Instagram.
The Canadian rapper posted a blank Instagram story in which he stated: “Woke up today so hurt man. My father will say anything to anyone that’s willing to listen to him.
“It’s sad when family gets like this but what can we really do that’s the people we are stuck with … every bar I ever spit was the truth and the truth is hard for some people to accept.”
Drake is renowned for being vocal and expressive throughout his lyricism, speaking on the break up of his parents to the nonexistence of his father at points of his life.
Claiming his own father was an absentee parent on numerous occasions, Dennis Graham appeared on Nick Cannon’s close conversations show on POWER 106 where he fought back expressing that he has always been in the rappers life. Exposing his version of the situation, Dennis Graham also said the Toronto rapper only painted him that way to sell records.
His father considers Drake’s recollection of earlier situations exaggerated.
“I have always been with Drake,” he says. “We really got into a deep conversation about that. I said, ‘Drake, why are you saying all of this different stuff about me? This is not cool.’ He [said], ‘Dad, it sells records.’ OK, well, cool.”
