The sons of the notorious drug lord El Chapo have reportedly been enforcing a 10pm coronavirus curfew in Culiacán, Mexico.
Iván Archivaldo Guzmán and Jesús Alfredo, also known as Los Chapitos or the little Chapos, have threatened the residents of Culicán with extreme “sanctions” if they are found ignoring the 10pm curfew.
A video posted online shows men patrolling the streets and threatening people with punishments such as ‘boarding’ (being hit with planks of wood), arrests and fines if found breaking the curfew. They have, however, made acceptances for people who are ‘key workers’.
The pair have reportedly taken over as leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel, following the arrest of their father. Since this has occurred, Culicán has been plagued with violence and Mexico has been battling soaring homicide figures.
