After nearly two decades of rocky conflict, the US and the Taliban have called a truce, both signing an “agreement for bringing peace” to Afghanistan.
The US and Nato allied have agreed to withdraw all military enforcement within 14 months if the Taliban are able to hold up their end of the bargain.
With talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban imminent, President Trump was glad to announce they’d been “working to finally end America’s longest war and bring our troops back home”.
