England and Man Utd left-back Luke Shaw has been quick to quash rumours of his sexual orientation, following a mass debate on social media.

Last week saw reports of two Premier League footballers allegedly planning to ‘come out’ and reveal that they’re gay, leading to discussion amongst football fans.

Many had suggested that Shaw could be one of the two players in question, which saw the former Southampton player take to Twitter to quash the circulating rumours.

Shaw – who recently suffered a horrific leg break against PSV – replied to a Man Utd fan account in an attempt to stop the talking.

It’s believed that the two players in question are ready to reveal their sexuality before the start of next season.

Sport has seen the subject ushered away at times, with many sportsman who have come out admitting it was incredibly difficult to do so.

Examples in football include former Aston Villa midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger and English footballer Justin Fashanu.

Despite this, it will be the first time that such revelations will be made public concerning players in the Premier League and the English national setup.
