Police searching for the body of missing YouTuber Etika have confirmed he has been found dead.
Prior to his disappearance a week ago, Etika – real name Desmond Amofah – had uploaded an eight minute video to his YouTube channel in which he expressed suicidal thoughts.
The New York Police Department took to Twitter to announce they had found Amofah’s body.
“We regret to inform that Desmond Amofah aka Etika has been found deceased.”
The 29-year-old had joined YouTube in 2012 and became popular with fans for talking about Nintendo games, as well as playing games on Twitch.
Several of Etika’s friends and family – as well as fellow YouTubers – have taken to social media to pay tribute to him.
