KwolleM first came to our attention in February after releasing “Bad Boy” – his refix of the 2011 Skepta hit – for which he created a brand new instrumental with mellow keys and melodies, which he dubbed “Mellow Grime.”

The East London producer (and emcee, FYI) then went on to release a second Mellow Grime track in the form of “Stand Up Tall“. Speaking shortly after the release of “Stand Up Tall”, KwolleM said he knew he’d found a niche and had “made something that could’ve been done, but no one ever thought to.” A niche indeed, as many others are now finding themselves creating music with the same distinct sound.

Luckily for us over at GRM, we got the heads up on an upcoming track that steps a little away from Grime. Those of you that keep up with KwolleM’s work elsewhere will know he isn’t restricted to the genre – having released mellow tracks with vocals from Que, Bobby Shmurda, Luniz, Young Thug and more.

I Won” is the brand new drop from KwolleM, exclusively on GRM Daily. Pairing the acappella of the Future & Kanye West hit with samples from O’Donel Levy and Brian Eno tracks, “I Won” is a track that begins off somewhat darker than previous releases, but still includes KwolleM’s more mellow vibes partway through to accommodate Kanye West’s vocals.

KwolleM has also released a few details of his forthcoming project – ‘Mellow Grime.’ Speaking to GRM Daily, KwolleM told us that it “is in the works” and that it’ll “bring back some of the classics with that jazzy injection” that KwolleM is slowly becoming renowned for.

You’ll be able to catch more KwolleM content here, where he has released various tapes and tracks along with a small EP of mellow hip-hop drafts, and keep up with his news on Twitter.
