There’s no better time to launch a video messaging service, and who better than Facebook.

If it wasn’t enough just to be tackling the competition that comes from Apple’s Facetime and Houseparty which shares the same creator as Fortnite, Facebook will allow up to 50 people to join a chat at once – way more than what other popular video chat forums can cope with.

Facebook even says that users can start and share rooms on Facebook through News Feed, Groups and Events, so it will be easy for people to drop by.

There is no need to download any app or software and you can join from whichever device you wish whether it be a computer or phone/tablet.

The social media giant will soon add ways to create rooms from Instagram Direct, WhatsApp and Facebook Portal which will users the opportunity to filter in who sees it and who can join.

If you have the Messenger app, you can play with AR effects like bunny ears and new AI-powered features like immersive 360 backgrounds and mood lighting.

Messenger Rooms is rolling out in some countries this week and will expand to the rest of the world in the coming weeks and there’s no time limit!

Instagram Live will also become integrated with IGTV and users will be able to watch live streams on desktop computers and laptops.

So, although the saying may go “the devil works hard” – remember, Facebook works that little bit harder.
