Facebook have introduced Quiet Mode for use on mobile devices.
This new feature has been designed to give users the option to silent most of the push notifications on the app – this, however, does not include the silencing of legal notifications, including privacy updates.
Users will have the option to toggle Quiet Mode mode on and off, with the additional preference of scheduling the new mode if chosen. When using the app during the use of this mode, users will get a reminder that it is still active.
This gives every mobile user the option to take a break and to separate themselves from possible distractions when needed.
In a statement, Facebook said, “As we all adjust to new routines and staying home, setting boundaries for how you spend your time online can be helpful. Whether it’s to help you focus on your family and friends, sleep without distraction or manage how you spend your time at home, we have tools that can help you find the right balance for how you use Facebook.”
This feature is available to Apple users now, with Android getting the new mode in May.
