London’s very own FelixThe1st has this week dropped his debut project, i hope you never fit in, alongside a music video for “stay”.
Spanning across 13 tracks, the tape is a soundtrack for misfits, taking listeners on a musical journey merging bedroom pop, shoegaze and grunge with his own tastemaker flair. The no-features project is a statement, highlighting his intentions to remain unapologetic and explore new genres that he hadn’t before.
Having put his blood, sweat and tears into the project, i hope you never fit in ensures that Felix’s moniker as a musical chameleon is showcased in all its glory.
Speaking on the project, he said, “I want this to be an immersive listening experience. It’s a project that began with such tiny ideas that have now become songs that mean a lot to me. It’s fascinating that we’ll look back at this as a moment in my journey where I stopped caring about what people think. I’m proud to say that my integrity speaks through my music.”
