EA Sports have revealed some details about what gamers can expect from FIFA 21 but some fans have been left disappointed.

One the website, gamers are teased with the short but sweet description – “feel Next Level in FIFA 21 on PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X with new technology that takes The World’s Game from visual to visceral”, and a video clip of the trailer.

On a closer look via the Next Level website, gamers are offered a more in-depth description of what to expect.

“Sense the impact of shots, passes, catches, kicks, tackles, and hits with immersive controller haptics. A new DualSense controller on PlayStation®5 with rich and responsive haptic feedback deepens the gameplay experience letting you feel the rhythm of the game in your hands.”

It also says, “Faster load times get you in the game quicker than ever. Never lose focus as stadium environments will load with unprecedented speed, letting you get to the kick-off in seconds.”

Fans in the stadiums are expected to be more interactive and player customisation, characterisation and behaviour are expected to be more advanced.

Fans have been left disappointed though as these features have been promised for next-gen consoles, i.e. the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X only – PC users will instead only receive the watered-down version which will be released on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

This version dubbed the “legacy edition” will receive new kits, new teams and a refreshed menu and overlay system but none of the new exciting gameplay features being promised to next-gen consoles.

In a FAQ page on their website, EA confirmed the news, writing, “FIFA 21 on PC will be the same version as released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We’ll have more information on it in the coming weeks.”

FIFA 21 is set to be released this October. Gamers who buy the game for their PS4 or Xbox One and then upgrade to the next-gen consoles are being promised a free upgrade of the game by EA.

All player progress will be transferred over.
