Having just released her brand-new mixtape CAPRISONGS, FKA twigs is now treating her fans to new visuals for one of the most creative songs on the project, “meta angel”.
The entire structure of “meta angel” is incredible. Twigs continues to beautifully evolve her sound and push her artistic boundaries. The visuals for the song are very powerful, Twigs finds herself in a battle with a former version of herself.
In the chorus, she sings, “I’ve got voices in my heads. Telling me that I won’t make it. Mirrors singing in my face, where’d you go? Where’d you go?”.
You can depict from this that her insecurities ate away at her at times to the point she couldn’t recognise her old self. This leads to her striking the old Twigs right in the heart with a bow and arrow, completing her transformation and further keeping up with the theme of CAPRISONGS which is her rebirth.
The vibrations you can feel from “meta angels” are sensational. The subtle changes in her heavenly vocal patterns and the shifts in the production throughout make this song feel like a spiritual journey.
