Rising London trio FLO have presented us with their first ever project titled The Lead!
Since breaking through with their viral hit “Cardboard Box”, all eyes have been on FLO – made up of 19-and-20-year-olds Renée, Stella and Jorja – to see what else they’ve got up their sleeve and The Lead is a fitting follow-up.
The five-track EP, which is exec produced by the talented MNEK, hears the group deliver more nostalgic R&B vibes, most notably on the sultry offering “Feature Me”. The EP also features the recently released “Immature”, as well as the acoustic version of “Cardboard Box”.
“Our debut EP The Lead represents personal and professional growth because it’s taken so many twists and turns,” FLO said of the project. “We are young black women navigating life and musicians finding our voice and sound through R&B. Pop means popular, and R&B could be pop, but people need to give it the same love and chance.
“The Lead shows us that positive things can come from tough conversations, and reminds us to take the lead and not follow anyone else when making decisions on your relationships and listening to your truth.”
