In some very shocking and sad news, football player Patrick Ekeng has died, following his collapse on the pitch during Dinamo Bucharest and Viitorul’s televised game. He was 26.
The Cameroon international fell backwards in the 70th minute of the game, before being pronounced dead in hospital two hours later. It is suspected that he died from a heart attack.
Cameroon team mate Stephane Mbia has tweeted his sadness following the news, saying “Our Cameroon football family has lost a brother. I cannot believe this. Condolences to his family. RIP Patrick Ekeng”.
