Players of the hugely popular gaming franchise Fortnite have gone into crisis mode on social media after a mysterious black hole appeared on screen during the final Fortnite event which has led people to believe that the game has ended forever.

The Fortnite Season 10 event was due to begin at 7pm and little information was provided beforehand about what the event would entail.

Instead of a stream link which fans were expecting, players and watchers were instead met with a black-hole on their screens which appears to mark the event of Fortnite and the destruction of the gaming universe.

The black-hole comes after a gruelling few months for the Epic made video game. Prince Harry called for the game to be banned in the UK earlier on in the year during a speech in which he said, “That game shouldn’t be allowed. Where is the benefit of having it in your household? It’s created to addict, an addiction to keep you in front of a computer for as long as possible. It’s so irresponsible. It’s like waiting for the damage to be done and kids turning up on your doorsteps and families being broken down”.

Most recently, the game also courted controversy after two parents sued the creators of the game after their children became addicted to playing it. They claim the game is as “addictive as taking cocaine”.
