The UK will be treated to a four-day bank holiday weekend thanks to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The move is to mark her 70 years on the throne and to celebrate the Queen’s run as the longest-reigning and older ever British Monarch in history, Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden has moved the May Bank Holiday to Thursday 2nd of June in 2022.

This means that we will enjoy the Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday off.

In a statement, Oliver said, “Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee will be a truly historic moment – and one that deserves a celebration to remember. We can all look forward to a special, four-day Jubilee weekend, when we will put on a spectacular, once-in-a-generation show that mixes the best of British ceremonial splendour with cutting edge art and technology.

“It will bring the entire nation and the Commonwealth together in a fitting tribute to Her Majesty’s reign.”

What will you do with the extra days off? Perhaps a trip to DXB? A quick baecation?  Let us know on socials.
