Chelsea have appointed their former midfielder Frank Lampard as the club’s new manager.
Lampard has left his role as head coach at Derby County to return to Chelsea, the club which he played for for thirteen years.
Speaking on his new role as manager at Chelsea, Frank Lampard said: “I am immensely proud to be returning to Chelsea as head coach.
“Everyone knows my love for this club and the history we have shared. However, my sole focus is on the job in hand and preparing for the season ahead.
“I am here to work hard, bring further success to the club and I cannot wait to get started.”
Since Roman Abramovich bought Chelsea back in 2003, the club has seen various full-time managers come and go – with Lampard being the tenth.
As a player at Chelsea, Frank Lampard won various cups – including three Premier League titles and four FA Cups – and he’ll be looking to have the same success as head coach of the team.
