After a four year hiatus, it seemed that Frank Ocean was finally firmly back on the scene. In the last year he dropped visual album Endless, quickly followed by the critically acclaimed Blond and has since dropped a plethora of one off singles and feature verses.
As well as blessing us with new music, Ocean was also booked as the headline act at a number of festivals across North America and Europe – including Lovebox in London and Manchester’s Parklife.
However as festival season quickly approaches, Frank has dropped out of two festivals, Washington’s Sasquatch! and Alabama’s Hangout Fest, both times citing “production delays” as the reason. Now the singer has cancelled his performance at this year’s Primavera festival in Barcelona, quoting the same production issues as his reason.
The news broke through the festival’s official social media, in a statement that reads, “We regret to announce that Frank Ocean’s concert programmed on Friday 2nd June in the Parc del Fòrum as part of Primavera Sound festival has been canceled due to production delays beyond his control.”
Hopefully Frank still makes it to both his UK dates, as we’re guessing he must be putting on a hell of a show to be coming up against all these issues.
