Fred again.. releases his latest project USB002.
The release brings together eight newly reimagined tracks drawn from the latest phase of Fred again..’s constantly evolving USB series, including the recently unveiled “OK OK (Hamdi Remix).”
For the project, Fred tapped a wide network of collaborators to reinterpret the material. Among them are artists who joined him on his recent tour — Skream and Benga, HAAi, Hamdi, Oppidan, and Lou Nour. The collection also welcomes contributions from producers closely linked to previous USB chapters, including KETTAMA and Lil Silva. Meanwhile, Brazilian artist MC Dricka appears on a newly refreshed version of “Facilita,” adding brand-new vocals to the track.
The project arrives shortly after Fred wrapped up a historic run of performances at Alexandra Palace, closing the chapter with a fourth and final show last Friday. One of the evening’s most unexpected moments saw Fred step into a surprise back-to-back set with Thomas Bangalter, marking Bangalter’s first live appearance in nearly twenty years. The night also featured standout appearances, including a rare performance from Kano, who delivered “3 Wheel Ups” and “P’s & Q’s” alongside Ezra Collective.
Last week, Fred’s penultimate show delivered a defining moment for UK dubstep. Scene pioneers Coki and Mala joined Skream and Benga on stage, alongside heavyweight MCs Flowdan, D Double E, JME, and Duurty Goodz. The set concluded with a surprise appearance from La Roux, who revisited her classic “In for the Kill” in its iconic Skream remix form.
