Following the release of the highly-anticipated Tables Turn mixtape, we’ve been doing a bit of reflecting on Fredo’s successful career so far. From the release of his first official track “They Ain’t 100” to performing at Wireless three years in a row, we delve deep into the rapper’s journey so far.
Let’s take it right back to the beginning, before Fredo himself even started putting out his own music, he was already involved in the music scene. He could be seen in the background of many videos which came from the Harrow Road Boyz collective, slowly making a name for himself and making himself a recognizable face within the scene.
We at GRM Daily have been supporting Fredo’s journey right from the beginning. As a result of this, last year he secured two of the top ten highest viewed GRM videos for his tracks “Change” and “Like That”. Securing over seven million views on each, it’s obvious that Fredo entered the game with the intentions of being a high-riser. It seems that Fredo was set for a successful ride from his debut track, “They Ain’t 100” alone.
During this process, Fredo managed to release his first ever project, Get Rich or Get Recalled, whilst behind bars. Proving that no matter how bad his situation, he will always do the best that he can. From this, he secured his own headline tour around the UK in which every show sold out. But, this wasn’t the first time he was able to give fans a taster of his live energy. In 2016 and 2017, although not on the line-up, Fredo was brought out on both occasions to cause a madness at Wireless Festival. Seeing the appreciation he received from fans, this year Fredo has officially been announced to perform at Wireless Festival 2018.
This brings us to the release of his most recent piece of work; Tables Turn. The Tables Turn mixtape is a masterpiece which perfectly signifies Fredo’s success. Touching on his struggle from being a child up until his recent time locked away, it’s clear that he hasn’t had the easiest of come ups.
Following on from their recent collaboration on GRM’s “YRF” track, Not3s and Fredo link up again, this time for their track “Haters”. Calling out all their haters whilst rapping about their lavish life which resulted from music, it’s clear that the two aren’t fazed by any negative comments or actions.
One feature which surprised a lot of fans was the link up with Desiigner and Dave East for the American influenced track “Keep It Real”. Desiigner’s vocals bring out the hip-hop influences in British rap, whilst Dave East delivers a strong verse.
The track listing of this project was perfectly laid out as Fredo takes us on emotional journey with him, from the beginning when trapping was his only income to the balancing of both his music career and trapping. Eventually, on the final track of the EP, “Change”, Fredo confirms that the rapping career is a much better way of him living his life as he lives comfortable with a legitimate income. Watching his come-up so far and every-growing fan base, we can confirm that his strong-minded motivation and constant grind has in-fact made him the artist he is today. This being the best that he could be as he continues to gift us with such strong pieces of work.
