Believe it or not there’s more free music in London than you think… so get your diares out and take note of some of these dates for the rest of this year, starting now!
Camberwell Fair is on August the 20th and has moved to Burgess Park but only so that they have more space for double the live music, activities and fun for more people.
Cahoots in Soho, is a “Blitz-era tube-themed bar” (The Times, 2016) that has music genres like lindy hop and gypsy jazz, and it’s free every Friday from August to December. So to take a step back into another era for the night it’s defiantly worth heading down there one Friday from 11pm onwards.
Canary Wharf Jazz Festival is completely free and is running on Saturday the 21st of August and Sunday the 22nd in Canada Square Park.
If you’re a Babyshambles fan or even just a Adam Ficek fan, then the drummer is going to preview some new solo material on Tuesday the 23rd of August in Shoreditch during a free intimate show. Find him at Old Street Records!
With spoken word becoming increasingly popular Lyrix Organix is running a showcase down at Kings Place, Kings Cross, and they’re also showcasing some Urban Music. This ones a must and will be on Friday the 9th of September.
London four piece Habitats headline with their indie pop band at The Borderline in Soho on September the 29th and another indie rock band Crows will be playing at the 100 club in Oxford street on Monday the 31st of October.
Village Underground consists of old recycled tubes covered in bright graffiti and shipment containers and resides in East London with Shoreditch High Street being the closest train station. It’s a giant creative space buzzing with club nights, exhibitions, concert theatres and live art. They also have some free events to offer and its defiantly worth going down just to see the building itself.
