This is mad. News has exploded over the internet throughout the last couple of days that Russia is launching a new reality show where literally anything goes.
Coming in like a real life version of the Hunger Games, Game2: Winter sees a group of 30 contestants attempt to survive an entire winter in the Siberian forests. Let’s remember that Siberian landscape is filled with bears and wolves and the weather can drop to below -40 degrees Celsius.
The show’s tagline reads: “Everything is allowed. Fighting, alcohol, murder, rape, smoking, anything.”
The Guardian have confirmed that this is all legit and the the contestants – an equal mix of men and women – have all signed contracts confirming that they know the risks of being murdered or raped. Mad. The only weapons that aren’t allowed are guns – but knives are calm. The production company has confirmed that there will be police medical emergency service at the production base, but that’s over a 30 minute drive from where the contestants will be staying and a lot can happen in half an hour.
Game2: Winter starts in July next year and runs all the way through to April 2018 when the final contestant will be going home with the prize. There are plans for the show to be screened worldwide, dubbed in English, French, German, Spanish, Chinese and Arabic, 24 hours a day.
