Former Love Island star turned reality TV personality Georgia Harrison has found herself in the firing line as old photos of her with her face painted black have surfaced.

The 24-year-old who is currently taking part in the US reality series The Challenge: War of the Worlds 2 was the centre of the hashtag #GeorgiaIsOverParty in the U.S after the pictures circulated across social media, with viewers calling her out for the images.

The pictures were taken five years ago as Georgia posed proudly with her entire face painted black; however, the Essex native has claimed that it was face paint at a children’s party.

A spokesperson for the reality star has said: “Georgia let the boy pick what she had done and that was it. At no point did Georgia think it was offensive or hold any negative connotations.” Before going on to say that: “Georgia would like to publicly apologise for any hurt or upset she’s caused with this old photograph and will learn from the situation.”

While a number of her co-stars from The Challenge have stepped up to defender her, the viewers are less forgiving of the old pictures.
