There’s a surge of unknown artists posting themselves performing on Instagram of late as a way to share their sound with the world. The viral sensation of last month Osh, did this with his single “My Ye is Different”, which went on to be shared and imitated by people worldwide.
One of the people who posted their own video rendition of “My Ye is Different” is Amaria, an up-and-coming artist whose soulful voice captured the attention of a lot of people, including the legendary MC Ghetts, who reposted Amaria’s video on his own Instagram with the caption “YOO I need this young lady to record a full version of this immediately you see the way this vocal lands on the eardrums”.
Ghetts then went on to make it happen. He arranged a session for Amaria at the PUMA recording studio to lay down the vocals to the track properly alongside producer Leka. Ghetts then surprised Amaria in the studio and the rest as they say is history.
