It’s been three long years since we had an album from Ghetts. His last outing was the sequel to his genre shifting Ghetto Gospel. The wait should come as no surprise as Ghetts is a self proclaimed hoarder, teasing us with previews to the gold mine he’s sitting on via Instagram Live.
After 15 years in the game, Conflict of Interest feels like the culmination of all his experiences thus far, it is undoubtedly his most well rounded body of work to date. Like the album cover suggests, it encompasses all sides that make Ghetts the man he is. One of the most striking things about the album is the way each track seamlessly melds into the next, really refreshing in the age of playlists and the hegemonic singles market.
