Ghislaine Maxwell has been found guilty of recruiting and grooming underage girls to be sexually abused by her ex-boyfriend Jeffrey Epstein.

60-year-old former socialite Maxwell was arrested in 2020 and charged with the involvement of Epstein’s sexual abuse of teenage girls.

Prosecutors said Maxwell “preyed on vulnerable young girls, manipulated them and served them up to be sexually abused” by Epstein – a convicted sex offender and presumed billionaire. He committed suicide in a New York jail in 2019.

Maxwell was accused of recruiting and grooming four teenagers for Epstein between 1994 and 2004, some as young as 14. Three three of the four accusers – Jane, Kate and Carolyn – did not use their full names but Annie Farmer did.

When testifying, Farmer said at the age of 16 she was given a nude massage by Maxwell on Epstein’s New Mexico ranch.

After hearing from 33 witnesses, the jury deliberated for five full days before reaching the verdict.

Ghislaine Maxwell was found guilty on five counts but was cleared of “enticing an underage girl to travel with intent to engage in illegal sexual activity”.

She now faces years in prison.
