Give Daily: Here’s How You Can Support Mental Health Charity ‘Black Thrive’

21 December 2020

As part of our Give Daily initiative, we’re highlighting charities and social enterprises to support and today the spotlight is on Black Thrive.

Black Thrive is a partnership between communities, statutory organisations, voluntary and the private sector. They work together to reduce the inequality and injustices experienced by Black people in mental health services.

The organisation address the barriers which lead to poorer outcomes across a range of social factors, such as education, employment, housing, and so on, all of which may negatively impact one’s health and wellbeing.

Black Thrive are big believers in co-production and work hard to bring ‘community-voiced’ solutions to the table and ensure they are the focus of whatever initiative come from our work.

Right now, Black Thrive are raising funds to create therapeutic spaces for the community to heal from some of the trauma they have experienced in the past.

To provide free and affordable culturally appropriate mental health support to Black people affected by institutional violence and racism, Black Thrive has launched a crowdfunder which has received over £43,000 in donations.
