As part of our Give Daily initiative, we’re highlighting charities and social enterprises to support and today the spotlight is on Centrepoint.

With an aim to give young people a future and end youth homelessness, Centrepointcprovides housing and support for young people regionally in London, Manchester, Yorkshire and the North East and through partnerships all over the UK.

Operating seven days a week – even on Christmas Day –  Centrepoint’s staff are dedicated to making sure they can help every homeless young person who walks into their doors; from support workers, to fundraising, to finance and our board.

The organisation supports over 14,000 young people each year, providing homeless youth with accommodation, health support and life skills to help them get back into education, training or employment.

Not only has the young people affected young people’s housing and jobs, it has also impacted Centrepoint’s support for young people in crisis as the organisation has had to suspend its fundraising events which contribute millions to their services.

“When the country is in economic decline, young people are one of the groups that are always hit the hardest,” said Matt Carlisle, Centrepoint’s Service Manager

“Their difficulties will only increase as this crisis continues in the coming months and years. Many thousands of vulnerable young people will suffer from being jobless and homeless, so we must keep them safe.

“That’s what we’ve always done and will continue to do, but we can’t do this without support or resources. Starting a monthly gift from today could really help us make a difference.”

From sponsoring a room to donating money or an item to volunteering or starting a fundraiser, there are many ways you can show your support for Centrepoint and for more information on how you can, click here.
