As part of our Give Daily initiative, we’re highlighting 12 charities and social enterprises to support and today the spotlight is on Southall Black Sisters.

Based in west London, Southall Black Sisters is a non-profit organisation which was established in 1979 to meet the needs of African-Caribbean and Asian women.

The organisation aims to highlight and challenge all forms of gender-related violence against women, campaign for equality and freedom and empower women to gain more control over their lives.

Southall Black Sisters offer a range of services such as its advice, advocacy and resource centre, counselling, self-help support, access to legal advice, training programmes and more.

While the organisation may focus on the needs of black and minority women, SBS do not turn away any woman who needs emergency help.
