Google have released Google Duo, a 1 to 1 mobile calling service which will be available to use on Androids or Ios. This app aims to help connect people all over the world.

In order to start using Duo all you’ll need is your phone number and you’ll be able to access phone numbers in your contact list, without having to create a separate account. Once you’ve signed up, video calls can start with a single tap. Duo will be able to work efficiently as call quality can be adjusted to change networks conditions to keep users connected.

Google have also crated Knock Knock, which allows users to see live video footage of your caller before you even answer.

Some critics are calling out the new software release as just a cheap imitation of FaceTime… What do you think – great new development, or simply catting an old one?
