A teenager who made headlines for sitting an exam just hours after her escape from the tragic Grenfell Tower incident appeared on TV earlier today to reveal her GCSE results.

16-year-old Ines Alves joined Eamonn and Ruth on This Morning, where she revealed she had achieved an A grade in Chemistry, the subject of the exam the teenager sat approximately six hours after escaping the Grenfell Tower fire.

Alves lived on the 13th floor of the West London tower block which caught fire on June 14 and escaped the fire with her Chemistry revision notes in her hand. Six hours after the incident, the teenager went to school in the same clothes she escaped the fire in to sit a GCSE Chemistry exam.

“I wasn’t expecting to get attention for just sitting a GCSE as everyone else did”, Alves said to Eamonn and Ruth.

“At the time, I thought it was just a normal thing going to sit an exam”.

The teenager also explains how she “broke down in tears” after the exam.
