Welcome to GRM Freshest Out, the one-stop place for the hottest US tunes of the week. Griff has rounded up the 5 best songs from across the pond, and as always it’s a diverse playlist you don’t want to miss out on. Check in and check out #GRMFreshestOut.

Fivio Foreign – Wetty

Brooklyn continues to produce a slew of young and hungry rappers adopting a sound that’s more similar to UK drill than their trademark style, with Fivio Foreign the latest upstart to run with the torch. He’s unveiled a video for his latest single “Wetty” and this one shouldn’t be leaving any playlists any time soon. With a thunderously cinematic instrumental, catchy regional hook and some cold lines to boot, this one should be an isolation anthem.

Tyga x Curtis Roach – Bored In The House

Sometimes inspiration can come from the most surprising places. Whilst everybody figures out what to do with their extra time whilst in quarantine, Tyga wasted no time in using the situation the world finds itself in as inspiration for a new banger, featuring TikTok influencer Curtis Roach. The pair bring some much needed tongue in cheek light heartedness on “Bored In The House”, a bouncy new anthem that’s sure to light up any House Party rave.

Jay Z ft. The Dream – Holy Grail [OG Version]

This one might be cheating to include on this list, but whilst it may technically not be a new song, it feels special enough to include. As producers, rappers and now songwriters take to Instagram Live to battle each other, The Dream and Sean Garret were two of the latest of the latter to get involved. During the clash, Dream drew for this OG version of Jay Z and Justin Timberlake’s “Holy Grail”, which he revealed he wrote, as well as originally featured on. The version was quickly uploaded to Tidal with an official release.

Pop Smoke ft. Quavo – Shake The Room

Whilst “Shake The Room” has been ringing off in the clubs for a while – at least whilst clubs still existed – this tune is about to blow even further with the release of the official music video. The late Pop Smoke filmed a lively visual before his untimely death, alongside Migos member Quavo, as the pair trade verses over a cold drill instrumental.

PARTYNEXTDOOR – Trauma

After a seemingly endless quiet period, PARTYNEXTDOOR triumphantly returned this week with his latest LP, PARTYMOBILE. Whilst fans still make up their minds about the project as a whole, headlines were dominated by the return of Rihanna on the album, who joined PND for “Believe It”. Whilst that tune bangs, the future smash feels like it could be “Trauma”, an island-tinged pop song that sounds ready to light up the summer.
