It’s been yet another big week and with so much great being music released we’ve been very busy at GRM. Ed Sheeran covered Ty Dolla $ign and Fetty Wap on Jimmy Fallon, Youngs Teflon released “King’s Speech” and also featured on the new Renz track “Right Now“. We were blessed with new music from Wholagun, Double S, Newham Generals, Gracious K, Scrufizzer, PBGR, J Hus, Wiley and a whole lot more.

Wretch 32 dropped a sick new freestyle in the form of “I Just Don’t Know (SMH)” exclusively on GRM Daily and we also released the latest instalment in our Daily Duppy series which was a fire performance from Rapman.

Check below to see the staff picks for this week from some of our writers and catch up with previous instalments in the series here: 001 (ft. Wiley, TE dness, Bonkaz and more), 002 (ft. Jesse James, Krept & Konan, A$AP Rocky and more), 003 (ft. Jammz, Yung Reeks, Tink and more), 004 (ft. So Large, Rayf, Stormzy and more), 005 (ft. Skepta, AR15, J Hus and more)

It seems that since I was introduced to ABRA I haven’t really stopped listening to her music for too long, and each time she drops a new track I’m listening even more solidly for days on end just repeating through her SoundCloud. A little birdie told me that she’ll be touching down in London – she’s an ATL resident – in August so I’m certainly hoping she’ll be performing live.

Check out my GRM Staff Pick “U KNO” below and be sure to let her know what you think of the track!

So today I got the word that Statik Selektah will be dropping his ‘Lucky 7’ album (real Hip-Hop fans know what’s up.) In the world of Hip-Hop Statik has mixed it up with producer veterans, legendary lyricists and made some of the dopest beats. The first single off the project ‘Beautiful Life’ is that audio dope! With samples in the beat you may recognise and the world play between Bronsolino and Joey Bada$$. Once again, Statik provides the perfect layout with the funked out, smooth silky, jazz, break beat instrumental. I make this my GRM Staff Pick.

New Wretch always gasses me. New Wretch exclusively premiering on GRM gasses me even more. Actually hearing this new Wretch had me on a “maybe I should just work for British Gas?” level. Genius wordplay as always, the sweetest hook and beautiful production from SOS. This really doesn’t need too much tark. Just listen. Vibe. Repeat. All day. Ahhhhh yeah.

Caroline

This track is running the race for one of my favourite Summer anthems this year. Quickly picking up support from the online world, 1xtra specialist shows and underground radio stations; the new gen pioneer put his best foot forward with “Right Now”. Recruiting Youngs Teflon for a cheeky verse with an equally talented up and coming producer named Jay Jay Musika on the beat, the classic wavey style Renz brings to the table is undeniable. Kick back and put this one on repeat.

Alex

Let’s get one thing straight – Scrufizzer is simultaneously one of the the most underrated and best artists we have and if you argue against the Fizzy Flow, you can suck your mum. The West London geezer has the craziest flow out right now, can manipulate his voice like no one else, can sing, and he produces. He’s proved his versatility time and time again, experimenting with a few sounds recently, but never forget he’s really about this Grime ting. Point in evidence, this brand new freestyle over the legendary “Pow” instrumental… reload this ish.
