The unveiling of the Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) trailer has made waves in the gaming community, setting a new YouTube record with nearly 100 million views within the first 24 hours.
This remarkable achievement, excluding music videos, surpasses the previous record held by popular YouTuber MrBeast.
Rockstar, the video game publisher, had initially planned to reveal the highly anticipated trailer on Tuesday. However, due to an online leak, the company opted to release it late on Monday night.
In response, Rockstar urged viewers, stating, “Our trailer has leaked, so please watch the real thing on YouTube.” The 90-second trailer confirmed the game’s release date, slated for 2025.
The upcoming GTA installment, the first since Grand Theft Auto V over a decade ago, promises to be groundbreaking. Set in the Miami-inspired location of Vice City, the game introduces its first female protagonist, Lucia, alongside an unnamed male lead character.
The visually stunning trailer showcases the diverse landscapes of Vice City, featuring beaches, waterways, central areas and surrounding swamps, hinting at expansive gameplay possibilities.
Rockstar claims GTA 6 will be the largest and most immersive installment in the series, with reports suggesting a staggering one billion dollars invested in its development.
Sam Houser, the founder of Rockstar, expressed enthusiasm about GTA 6, stating, “Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven, open-world experiences. We’re thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players everywhere.”
As anticipation builds, the gaming community eagerly awaits the arrival of what promises to be a monumental addition to the iconic Grand Theft Auto franchise.
