A group of climate-change protestors interrupted MPs who were discussing the upcoming votes in Parliament by stripping off to their underwear.

To call attention to the “climate and ecological crisis”, the activists from Extinction Rebellion glued their hands to the surfaces within Parliament to address “the elephant in the room”.

The activists were dressed only in underwear when they took to the gallery with phrases such as ‘stop wasting time’ and ‘fight for all life’ across their chests.

The group said “we are walking dangerously close to irreversible climate collapse – this is what it has come to”.

One MP, James Heappy, posted a picture of scenes from the interruption in a tweet.

“Parliament just got a bit more nuts”, he wrote.

Following the protest, the Metropolitan Police confirmed 12 people had been arrested for “outraging public decency”.
