In the latest episode of the Halfcast Podcast, the team are joined by cinematographer Flex God Daps to discuss his journey to success as a music video director.
Daps talks about his Nigerian heritage, his childhood experiences in Europe and living in New Jersey as a graduate with the hopes of starting a rap blog. He breaks down how he got into the music video industry through his friend asking him to produce videos for artists and explains that the lack of creativity in that role pushed him to try directing.
Daps’ directing work includes Stormzy’s “Big For Your Boots”, a string of videos for Migos including “Walk It Talk It” with Drake, and Rich the Kid’s “Plug Walk” starring internet star Lil Mayo the alien.
Watch Daps detail his journey with Chuckie and Poet above and for more from the Halfcast Podcast, check out their last episode where they discuss Jamie Oliver’s jerk rice and Nicki Minaj, here on GRM Daily.
