Race is, and has been, at the centre of many debates over the years but in the new Halfcast Podcast episode, the team discuss whether or not race has a place in every dialogue.
The topic in the latest instalment of the Halfcast Podcast was prompted by the exchange of words between Giggs and talk show host, Zeze Millz, on social media. Giggs took to Instagram to criticise comments made by Millz in which she argued that many artists tend to favour platforms run by white people, such as Chicken Shop Date, over black-owned, grassroot platforms.
The Halfcast crew, which is joined by DJ Slick, Madders Tiff and Savage Dan in the latest episode, explain why both Giggs and Millz are right to an extent, and suggest that the topic of race may not have been necessary in the debate between the two individuals.
