Iconic duo, The Mitchell Brothers, have made their long-awaited return to music on “Routine Check 2.0” with iLL BLU and Sneakbo.
It’s been nearly 16 years since The Mitchell Brothers released their timeless single “Routine Check” and on the new edition of the track, they provide us with a modern spin on the song by taking on an iLL BLU-produced drill beat.
Like the original single, “Routine Check 2.0” is centred around the frustrations many Black people feel when being stopped and searched by the police; with the Mitchell Brothers and Sneakbo speaking candidly about racial discrimination while simultaneously highlighting the all-important message: Black lives still matter.
