In 2018, we saw J. Cole deliver his fifth and most recent album KOD and it looks like we’re heading in the direction of another one as the rapper teased a new project titled The Fall Off during his Day n Vegas festival set on Friday.
During his live set, Cole played a video formed as a political campaign advertisement. The clip begins with B-roll footage of politicians and police officers, with a narrator saying, “It seems like sh*t is all f*cked up. The country needs a hero to turn to in these turbulent times. Jermaine Cole is that hero.”
Cole isn’t one to shy away when it comes to conveying his views on political issues, specifically on the tribulations faced in Black America.
The clip draws to an end with the narrator saying, “Make your voice heard: Vote for The Fall Off in 2020,” with “The Fall Off 2020” displayed on the screen.
We can’t help but think this may be a suggestion that a new Cole project may be on the cards for next year. But until then, we have to enjoy the constancy of music that Cole has distributed most recently, including his latest video featuring Bas, Earthgang, J.I.D and Young Nudy.
