Sources close to Young Thug have announced that J. Cole will executive produce Young Thug’s new album with the two rumoured to have already started working together in recording studios in New York.

This doesn’t come as a huge surprise as Cole has been backing Young Thug for a while, most recently, having Thug support him on his KOD tour.

Speaking on Young Thug’s artistry in an interview, J. Cole said, “If you wanna talk about Thug as like, an artist, he’s an innovator. You can call him a mumble rapper all you want, but if you know skills and the art of rapping, and you know like, how you put words together, you know pockets, you know flows, you know the things he does with his voice, dude is a genius.”

With Thug teasing multiple projects including Barter 7 and Hy!£UN35 it is still unknown whether Cole is working with him on one of these of a whole new concept altogether.
