A vigil for the late, great Jamal Edwards will be held in west London tonight.
The Acton Unframed Instagram account announced a vigil will be held at 7:30pm tonight (February 21) next to Jamal Edwards’ mural outside Everyone Active gym on Acton High Street.
The vigil will allow everyone to come together to remember Jamal Edwards, who sadly passed away yesterday at the age of 31.
Earlier today,Jamal’s mum, Brenda Edwards, confirmed that he died from a “sudden illness”.
“It is with the deepest heartache that I can confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness,” Brenda said in a statement.
“Myself, his sister Tanisha and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated. He was the centre of our world.”
She added: “Jamal was an inspiration to myself and so many. Our love for him lives on, his legacy lives on. Long live Jamal Edwards MBE, MBA, PHD.”
Since news of his passing emerged last night, tributes have been paid on social media by the likes of Dave, AJ Tracey, Richard Branson and many more
“So sad to hear about the passing of Jamal Edwards MBE,” Richard Branson wrote. “What a loss of a truly extraordinary young man who made a huge difference to so many people’s lives.”
