A year and a half on from his last project, Jeshi makes a powerful return with his latest project, The Great Stink.
Consisting of six tracks, the release showcases both continuity and artistic ambition. The project draws its name from the historical events of 1858 in London, when a scorching summer intensified the stench of human waste along the River Thames. Cholera outbreaks were rampant, particularly affecting the city’s poorest residents. The media dubbed the crisis The Great Stink. Jeshi skillfully employs this near-forgotten episode in British history as a metaphorical backdrop for his latest project. It serves as a powerful vehicle for illuminating his own artistic vision.
