It’s been 9 years since the release of the original but now it looks like a sequel to Attack The Block could be in the works.
It was recently reported the film’s lead, John Boyega, had met up with the movie’s director Joe Cornish to discuss the creation of a sequel and John Boyega addressed the rumours on Twitter, writing: “….think imma need the whole of London for an army on this one……”.
Boyega’s tweet comes after Cornish recently spoke on the possibility of an Attack The Block 2 on the Script Apart podcast, saying “We’ve got ideas.”
He added: “I met with John a couple of months ago to talk about it. We’ve always had ideas after the first one. But obviously we’ve both been busy doing different things.”
Attack The Block was released in 2011 and depicted a comedic, sci-fi narrative in which a group of friends from London – led by Boyega’s character Moses – protect their neighbourhood from aliens.
The film served as Boyega’s breakthrough film and marked the beginning of his rise to stardom, with him later landing big roles in Pacific Rim and Star Wars.
Judging by his tweet, Boyega is just as excited about a potential Attack The Block 2 as us!
