Just over a week deep and we are being spoilt with new music left, right and centre. Amongst this is a tonne of familiar faces doing what they best and delivering banger after banger. We had the return of Mr Wong aka Wong Williams with “Know That“, Joe Grind premiered “F*ck Dem Youts” via Charlie Sloth’s show and D Double E teamed up with Darq E Freaker for “Spin A Man“. Ghetts even dropped a “Risky Roads Freestyle 2016” which brought back a classic nostalgic vibe. Not to be forgotten, East London’s own Kano returns with a new track and video entitled “3 Wheel-ups” featuring Giggs. The video sees both rappers going back to back on a horn infused, thumping instrumental which will get an infinite number of wheel ups. As well as his shout out on the track as a “real OG”, D Double E also features in the video, filmed by Risky Roadz, Jus D, Tanyel Vahdetti and KA himself. One obvious omission from the video is Wiley [hence Where’s Wiley?] but the E3 rapper does appear on the official track via iTunes.
“3 Wheel-ups” is taken from Kano’s upcoming album ‘Made In The Manor’, a 15-track project recorded in London throughout 2015 that features production from Fraser T Smith, Rustie, Mele,Mikey J, Blue May, Zeph Ellis and Swifta Beater. The album, which will be his first in 6 years following 2010’s ‘Method to the Maadness’, will feature tracks “Flow Of The Year” [feat. JME], “Hail“, “GarageSkankFreestyle” and “Deep Blues” [feat. Damon Albarn]. Speaking on the project, Kano said;
“You have to know where you’ve come from in order to know where you’re going… this is the most honest I’ve ever been on an album. It’s not that I wasn’t being honest before, it’s just that I wasn’t speaking about things this personal before.”
‘Made In The Manor’ is set to be released via Parlophone/Warner Music on March 4th and you can pre-order the project via iTunes here.
