The legend that is Kano is launching a new series titled Newham Talks to raise money for his home borough of Newham.

Due to premiere on Friday (September 4), the 8-episode series will see Kano and a number of big names sit down for in-depth conversations to raise money for their community of Newham where they all grew up.

As well as exploring their Newham roots, Kano and his guests will explore a number of important topics such as Black Lives Matter protests, pressures of fame, black creative expression and much more.

Among the line-up of guests are Ghetts, D Double E, Footsie, Posty, Idris Elba and more.

Speaking on the exclusive series, Kano said: “Growing up in Newham made me the artist and the man that I am today. Newham is one of the most culturally rich but economically one of the poorest boroughs in London and as the effects of COVID 19 continue to hit the community hard, we must come together and do what we can to help.

“With other Newham-raised artists and cultural pioneers, I’ve started a conversation –  through ‘Newham Talks’, we aim to raise both awareness and funds to support this brilliant community, that has supported so many of us.”

The money raised via the Go Fund Me campaign will go directly to The Renewal Programme which will then equally split the funds between themselves and additional Newham-based charities Caritas Anchor House and Bonny Downs Community Association.

Newham Talks
will begin on Friday on Kano’s YouTube channel and an episode will be released every Monday and Friday until the end of September.
