The beef between Kanye West and Drake might finally be nearing its end after Kanye apologised to Drake on Twitter.
In a series of tweets, Kanye apologised for deliberately scheduling G.O.O.D. music releases in June in order to conflict with Drake’s LP Scorpion and the drama over the “Lift Yourself” beat.
On the “Lift Yourself” beat drama, Kanye tweeted, “because we spoke about doing “Lift Yourself” together I should have given you the opportunity for us to do this together before I released it”.
Prior to this, Ye spoke candidly about his issues with Drake surrounding the instrumental used for his 2018 single. In a radio interview he said, “When we talk about the Drake thing, it hits me in a really sensitive place because you hang around people and they come to your house and be around your family and this and that and they get mad about a beat and send you purple demon emojis”.
This apology from Kanye comes after Drake recently dissed the rapper onstage in his hometown of Chicago and it was alleged that Drake may have secretly dated Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian.
Prior to their falling out, Kanye and Drake were frequent collaborators, with Kanye West penning Drake’s hit “Find Your Love”, featuring on his early breakout track “Forever” as well as a planned joint album release which fell apart after subtle jabs were exchanged about owning bigger pools and competition over radio play.
Kanye also denied having any involvement in Pusha T’s diss track “The Story of Adidon”. In the track, Pusha T revealed to the public that Drake had a son with the bars, “A baby’s involved, it’s deeper than rap. We talking character, let me keep with the facts. You are hiding a child, let that boy come home”.
It was widely speculated that Kanye provided Pusha with information about Drake’s alleged plans to announce the arrival of his son with an Adidas collection named after his child. It was alleged that Kanye received this knowledge through his connections at Adidas, however, Kanye denies this.
Kanye West ended his series of tweets by promising to attend one of the shows on Drake’s Aubrey and the Three Migos Tour. The 57 date North American tour started in August after several pushbacks due to production issues.
