While the UK urban scene thrives as it’s own self-sufficient being nowadays, the artists from across the pond still have a huge amount of relevance and influence. When the heavy weights from the US drop tracks, it’s hard not to turn eyes stateside. With quality releases often coming out; we’ve got Griff to collect the best ones, all in one place. He will make sure you only have one place to look for US releases, every single week – right here on GRM Daily.

Rae Sremmurd – Come Get Her

This week the “No Flex Zone” brothers Rae Sremmurd surprised fans by releasing a streamable version of their brand new album ‘SremmLife’ due to drop on January 6th. “Come Get Her” is the first cut from album, and is easily the catchiest. Swae Lee switches up his style and sings over the hook and his verse, Jimmi provides an equally hard hitting verse of his own. Look out for the full album drop and pre-order here.

Wale ft. Jeremih – The Body

MMG wordsmith Wale releases the accompanying visuals to his smooth single, featuring Jeremih. In the video, Wale charms his way to a ladies heart, wining and dining his gyal, who presumably has a body like a benz.

Young Thug & Rich Homie Quan ft. PeeWay Longway – Hold Us

Hip-hop’s resident weirdos Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan link up with PeeWay Longway, to bring a new trap-flavoured song. The song has the two dropping their individual breed of sing-song double-time bars over a quick tempo banger of a beat.

DeJ Loaf ft. Young Thug & Birdman – Blood

Detroit resident Dej Loaf is making big moves. She’s already dropped a hit record in the form of “Try Me”, has done a song with home town hero Eminem and now to aid her campaign some more, she has released a set of visuals for her mixtape stand-out “Blood”. The track has Thugger again cropping up for some harmonies, joining her for an interesting sounding track.

Kanye West ft. Paul McCartney – Only One

Kanye saw in the New Year by releasing this unexpected track. After months of speculation on the release of his next album, he’s shut everyone up by revealing the rumoured collaboration with Paul McCartney. The song has McCartney playing the keys and Kanye crooning a sweet auto-tune infused melody over the top. This is definitely a lullaby for his and Kim Kardashian’s daughter Nori. Check out the lyrics here.
