Kanye West is continuing to experiment with his artistry by announcing his first ever opera, Nebuchadnezzar.

Ye took to Twitter to announce the opera by posting the artwork for the event.

Titled after the Babylonian monarch, the opera is due to take place on November 24th at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and will be directed by one of West’s previous collaborators, Vanessa Beecroft.

Yeezy’s Sunday Service performers are expected to feature in the opera, alongside Peter Colins & Infinities Song.

In a previous interview with Beats 1’s Zane Lowe, Kanye West mentioned Nebuchadnezzar, saying: “[God] is saying, Let me take this Nebuchadnezzar-type character—Nebuchadnezzar was the king of Babylon, and he looked at his entire kingdom and said, I did this.

“I stood on the top of the mountain talking about Yeezus, saying, ‘I’m a God’—I had a guy dressed as Jesus.”

Details of the opera are limited at the moment but given Kanye’s love for outlandish things, we can expect it to be a very special event.
